While enjoying the cool weather and clear skies, we had an engaging week as we visited Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) headquarters in Canberra and were also hosted by their offices in Sydney, Fremantle, and Karratha.

We had a productive discussion and shared with each other insights on variety of topics including ship safety, flag and port state control, monitoring regimes, marine surveyor’s training, and authorisation programme. A big Thank You to AMSA for hosting us!

We also had the chance to visit the AMSA Response Centre, while in Canberra, where AMSA coordinates all their search and rescue operations within their region which is a huge area to cover. Also, while we were there on our visitation tour from New South Wales to Western Australia, we carried out our routine overseas flag State control inspections on Singapore Registered Ships (SRS) as well.

Overall, it was a fruitful and memorable tour for our Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) colleagues and we look forward to working with AMSA on further collaborations in the future!
