Recognised training service providers for shore-based personnel dealing with IMDG cargoes
The International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code (amdt. 40-20) was adopted by MSC 102/3/1 for the latest amendments which will come into force on 1 June 2022. As part of the mandatory requirements, under Chapter 1.3.1 shore personnel involved in handling or documentation of dangerous goods are to have undergone mandatory training that commensurate with their responsibilities. Entities engaging shore-based personnel in such activities shall determine which staff will be trained, what levels of training they require and the training methods used to enable them to comply with the provisions of the IMDG Code. It is the responsibility of the employer to maintain a proper record of the training and to furbished when requested by the Authority.
