‘FUTURE OF SHIPPING: DECARBONISATION’ WEBINAR
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) co-hosted with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) a webinar on
September 17. MPA’s Maritime Perspectives Series entitled ‘Future of Shipping: Decarbonisation’ saw leaders of the maritime administrations
and industry sharing insights on decarbonisation for shipping. Opening the event were speeches by Mr Ong Ye Kung, Singapore’s Minister for
Transport, and Mr Kitack Lim, IMO’s Secretary-General. More than 500 participants from 63 countries tuned in, affi rming that decarbonisation
remains a priority for the international shipping community despite the ongoing pandemic. In Community Talk (page 34), you can read more on

MPA PARTICIPATES IN NDP 2020 MARITIME SAIL-PAST FOR THE FIRST TIME
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) presented to
the public part of its fleet of new patrol craft when it participated
in the 2020 National Day Parade during the Maritime Sail-
past segment on August 9. Starting from the Marina South
Pier at 10.50am, MPA’s next-generation patrol craft MPA 1 and
hydrographic survey vessel Discovery joined vessels from the
Republic of Singapore Navy, Police Coast Guard, and Singapore

Koh Li Min and Mr Muhammad Nor Azmi Bin Aman, Technical
Executives from Hydrographic Division, as well as Mr Low Jun

proudly represented MPA in the Maritime Sail-past.
