VIPS VISIT PORT OPERATIONS CONTROL CENTRE
Minister for Transport Ong Ye Kung; Senior Minister of State for Transport &
Sustainability and the Environment Dr Amy Khor; Senior Minister of State for

Transport & Foreign Affairs Chee Hong Tat; as well as Mr Baey Yam Keng, Senior
Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Transport, paid a visit to the Maritime and
Port Authority of Singapore’s (MPA) Port Operations Control Centre. The visit took
place on August 11, and was organised to help them better understand MPA’s scope
of work and capabilities.

SINGAPOREANS STAND UNITED AT NATIONWIDE ANTHEM MOVEMENT

At 10.30am on National Day (August 9), the Public Warning System sounded to rally all
Singaporeans to participate in the Anthem Moment from their homes. While the National
Anthem was played at the Padang, flag-raising ceremonies took place at eight locations

across the island, together with live broadcast over TV and radio channels. Minister for
Transport Ong Ye Kung, together with Senior Minister of State for Transport & Sustainability
and the Environment Dr Amy Khor, as well as Senior Minister of State for Transport &

Foreign Affairs Chee Hong Tat, led a delegation of representatives from government
agencies under the Ministry of Transport, transport companies, and the unions in singing the

National Anthem while the flag was raised at Changi Airport.
