Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore and Port of Antwerp-Bruges Sign Memorandum of Understanding on Maritime Decarbonisation and Digitalisation

On Friday, 21 March 2025, Port of Antwerp-Bruges and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on maritime decarbonisation and digitalisation. This joint initiative will strengthen the partnership between the Port of Antwerp-Bruges and MPA and reaffirms the importance of collaboration and knowledge exchange in addressing global maritime challenges.

2. The MOU was signed by Mr Jacques Vandermeiren, CEO, Port of Antwerp-Bruges, and Mr Teo Eng Dih, Chief Executive, MPA. The MOU was exchanged on 25 March 2025 during the State visit to Belgium by His Excellency Tharman Shanmugaratnam, President of the Republic of Singapore. The MOU was exchanged between Mr Johan Klaps, Vice-Mayor (for the Port and Economy) of the City of Antwerp and President of the board of directors of Port of Antwerp-Bruges, and Mr Lim Hong Huai, Singapore’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. 

3. This MOU provides a framework for Port of Antwerp-Bruges and MPA to exchange information and explore collaboration in key areas of maritime decarbonisation and digitalisation.
