Please be informed that MPA has embarked on a full implementation of the electronic
certificates for the Singapore-registered ships. Since the launch of electronic certificates from
December 2017, MPA has issued up to 9,000 electronic certificates, including registration and
crewing-related as well as relevant statutory certificates.
Owners are reminded that all electronic certificates issued by MPA would have to be
accompanied with a copy of the
MPA Shipping Circular No. 26 of 2017 placed on board to
facilitate the acceptance of electronic certificates by other relevant authorities.
Owners are required to note that hard copy paper certificates which have been issued prior to
the implementation of the electronic certificates shall remain valid and have to be carried on
board until such time the electronic certificates are available on board.
