CLS appointed as new LRIT Recognised Application Service Provider for Singapore

With effect from 1 Mar 17, Collecte Localisation Satellites (CLS) have been appointed by MPA as the Singapore Registry of Ships' recognised the Application Service Provider (ASP) and operator of the Singapore LRIT National Data Centre.
CLS is a subsidiary of the French Space Agency (CNES), which is headquartered in Toulouse, France. CLS, together with its newly acquired subsidiary Fulcrum Maritime Systems, currently manages around 18 LRIT Data Centres and acts as a Recognised ASP to around 70 countries.
As the Recognised ASP, CLS is authorised to manage and monitor the LRIT reporting for Singapore ships on behalf of SRS. CLS will be contacting the relevant DPA/CSO directly to provide necessary guidance should vessels report irregularly or fail to provide LRIT position reports for more than two consecutive days.
In addition to CLS, MPA has also appointed Fulcrum Maritime Systems Ltd and Pole Star Space Applications Limited to conduct conformance testing for Singapore ships. For more information, please refer to Shipping Circular No 7 of 2017.
