Singapore Ratified To The 2004 International Convention For The Control And Management Of Ship's Ballast Water And Sediment (BWMC)

Singapore has ratified the 2004 International Convention for the Control and Management of Ship's Ballast Water and Sediment (BWMC) which will enter enter into force in Singapore on 8 September 2017. All relevant Singapore-registered ships are required to comply with the requirements of the convention. Ships of 400GT and above are to be certified and issued with an Internationa Ballast Water Management Certificate (IBWMC). MPA has authorised our Recognised Organisation(ROs) to conduct survey for issuance of IBWMC to SRS ships. SRS ship-owners can also approach our ROs for approval of Ballast Water Management Plan.
