The Singapore Registry of Ships (SRS) celebrated its 55th anniversary in 2021 and maintained its position among the top five largest ship registries in the world. The 2021 SRS Forum was themed "Your Partner in Quality and Sustainable Shipping" and was organized by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) on 8 Oct 2021, focusing on the launch of the SRS Notations, the announcement of the refreshed SRS logo, as well as presentations by various industry experts.

The forum was held in a hybrid manner, with over 350 participants who attended the event physically and virtually. The refreshed SRS logo consists of the previous logo in the centre, and surrounding it are new complementary elements. Visually, the three waves connote the dynamic maritime industry. Symbolically, they represent the strong tripartite partnership among the industry, unions and government in supporting the SRS. They also represent the SRS's core values of Quality, Reliability and Sustainability. Together with the logo, the accompanying tagline underscores the qualities of the SRS and MPA's commitment to work together with the industry as a partner in quality and sustainable shipping.

Decarbonisation efforts by Singapore ships

MPA also presented Green Ship Certificates to 15 companies under the Green Ship Programme (GSP) for reducing the environmental impact of their fleet. Since the GSP's inception in 2011, 644 Singapore-flagged ships have joined the programme.
