The Singapore Mariners' Club held a Futsal Tournament from 12th to 13th November this year. This annual event is organised to give seafarers visiting the Port of Singapore a break from working on board their ships, and promote the health and well-being of seafarers. It has brought together a community of past, present and future seafarers from maritime academic institutions and shipping companies.
A total of 150 participants from different nationalities took part in the two-day event. We thank all participants for their support and enthusiasm.
To round off the year, MPA hosted its annual year end appreciation dinner for seafarers and all its partners in seafarer welfare at the Singapore Mariners' Club at the Maritime House. The dinner
event celebrated and recognised the hard work that the seafarers has done, as well as the contributions made by our seafarers and their unions in the Port of Singapore.
This year, Mr Kam Soon Huat, MPA Board member and chairman of the Welfare Committee for Seafarers was the guest of honour for the event and an overwhelming crowd of 150 guests attended the festive occasion.
