Singapore, China tie-up to ease sea port clearance with the use of e-certificates

Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and China Maritime Safety Administration (MSA) successfully signed an MoU to collaborate on e-Certificates at the 11th China-Singapore Senior Officials' Committee Meeting.
Both agencies will work together to promote the issuance, usage and acceptance of e-Certificates. This paves the way for improved efficiency of port clearance and reduce administrative burden on shipping companies.
This is important as the international shipping industry is responsible for carrying more than 80% of world trade, crucial to global trade and economic development. E-Certificates of ships and crew are key documents used in shipping customs procedures that facilitate such trade activity.
