Throughout the years, MPA has developed strong expertise as a responsible port state and we are glad to share our experience and learn from port authorities around the world. In the final quarter of 2018, MPA hosted a PSCO from Chile as part of the Tokyo Memorandum of Understanding (Tokyo MOU) PSCO exchange programme and a PSCO from the Republic of Korea as part of both nation's bilateral exchange programme. In March 2019, one of MPA's PSCO was also sent to Valparaiso, Chile for the Tokyo MOU PSCO exchange programme.
In line with Tokyo MOU's vision to eliminate substandard shipping in the Asia-Pacific region, these exchange programmes provided excellent opportunities to share and exchange Port State Control knowledge among our foreign counterparts while promoting harmonization on Port State Control procedures in the region.
