MEET SHIPPING DIVISION
Meet Shipping Division

In this inaugural issue of SRS e-Bulletin, I would like to first thank all our SRS shipowners, ship operators and our partners in the maritime industry for your steadfast support to SRS, which has progressively grown from strength to strength to become the 5th largest flag in the world in terms of gross tonnage. We will continue to strive to maintain our position as a quality flag administration and to serve our fleet better.

This SRS e-bulletin was an initiative conceived last year to enlarge our communication channels to reach out to our partners and stakeholders. The primary focus of this e-bulletin is to update everyone the key performance indicators of Singapore flag under the Tokyo and Paris MOU regimes, as well as the US Qualship 21 programme. It will highlight the common PSC deficiencies faced by Singapore flag ships, in the hope that our stakeholders will use such information to better manage their ships and to inculcate a learning culture within their organisations. Other regular features will include SRS fleet composition and numbers, updates on pertinent IMO issues, training and crewing matters. I hope our readers will find the content interesting and relevant.

For the first issue, I like to quickly introduce the Heads of Department in the Shipping Division and their various roles and responsibilities. Many if not all, should be familiar faces to you.

Happy reading!
